…whether doing very little other than swim, read and relax at glamorous beach clubs or while moored at iconic yachting harbours.
We also love the exhilaration of the mountains, in winter and spring, the challenge of the slopes with star-spangled nights and chic après-ski.
Resorts
Whether beach, mountain or lake, certain destinations have become brand names. Saint-Tropez, Ibiza, St Moritz, Aspen and Mykonos all lay claim to being a part of the jet set world, destinations for the party crowd. While for some this means high glamour, for others it has become too clichéd and excessive.

This latter group may have migrated to more subdued alternatives, such as Cap Ferret, on the French Atlantic coast; Formentera, in the Balearics; Patmos, or Antiparos in the Greek islands of the Dodecanese and Cyclades respectively.
And, for ski and après-ski, the crowd less keen to ‘see and be seen’ may prefer Deer Valley and Beaver Creek in the USA and Italy’s Alta Badia rather than the high profile resorts.

For Nota Bene, it’s all about when you go, where you stay and dine and how everything is curated.

Saint-Tropez in June is heavenly if you take a beautiful suite in Ramatuelle with a sleek day cruiser at your disposal. Likewise Ibiza on a yacht in late May through mid-June or Mykonos in early July, provided you have the right villa with the best tables reserved at the coolest beach clubs.

With the arrival of summer, little compares with the glamorous playgrounds of the Mediterranean and Aegean, led by Portofino, Porto Ercole, Capri, the Amalfi Coast, Bodrum, the Greek islands, the Aeolian islands off the coast of Sicily and the Maddalena islands between Corsica and Sardinia. From May to September these locations are full of high-octane events, glamorous parties, yachting, fun-filled days at beach clubs, and evenings at soigné restaurants.
Between December and April, the in crowd is likely to be found on St Barths, Anguilla or Mustique in the Caribbean; Harbour Island, Bahamas; the San Blas islands off the coast of Panama. Otherwise they will be skiing in Europe or the US with the more adventurous now migrating further to resorts in Hokkaido, Japan; heli-skiing in British Columbia, Canada or in northernmost Swedish Lapland.
