The British Prime Minister announced last weekend that a traffic-light system will shortly come into effect for UK travellers, with certain European and Caribbean countries earmarked for ‘green light status’.
We also understand that good vaccination progress is being made in the United States with a number of countries welcoming travellers, subject to relatively simple formalities being in order.
We are excited by a number of promising new hotel and lodge openings, which are slated to be reviewed over the coming months. Destination coverage is as far-ranging as Madagascar, Madrid, the Greek islands, the Balearics and the Caribbean.
While we wait for further announcements on travel within Europe it should be noted that we have seen above average demand for the South Pacific, East Africa (for safari), Mexico, the Maldives and Caribbean islands – mainly Mustique, St Barths, Grenada, the Dominican Republic and Turks & Caicos.
Private villas, hotel villas and exclusive lodges figure strongly, together with private air charter, exclusive expeditions and yachting.
Travel is always in demand for many reasons aside from business. It may be in connection with a special celebration, for example a honeymoon or an important birthday. We have created many experiences in unique locations for private events bringing in the finest event planners, caterers, music and lighting experts who help create the magic.
Or it could be in connection with the exciting worldwide calendar of contemporary art – major art fairs, auctions, important public and private gallery shows and studio visits. Art is a subject we are passionate about. It has to be seen and encountered and we cannot wait to be able to do this again.
Travel is also an important feature for those seeking fashion and luxury goods shopping in addition to speciality foods and wines. Noteworthy regions include Greece, Italy, Scandinavia, France, the Middle East and South Africa.
It also figures year-round for major sporting events such as those connected with golf, motor-racing, sailing, tennis, polo, football and basketball. There is also well-being and fitness; a number of outstanding world-class retreats are located in India, Thailand, the US and Italy and come highly recommended. And for outdoor activities such as hiking and horse riding amid stunning landscapes, Iceland is a perfect choice.
Nota Bene is often compared with concierge services which are much broader based and rolled out to thousands of members. While we do provide concierge support, in conjunction with trips, our focus is exclusively on bespoke travel and lifestyle management together with real estate advice and acquisition.
We recognise that not all of the above is possible yet with some destinations opening up earlier than others. With this in mind what are you hoping to do over the coming months?
